Model United Nations

For the job, I've been in Nashville for the past week and a half directing three (at this point) Model United Nations conferences. It has been so fun seeing the potential these kids have for the future and hopefully expanding their world views as they debate, discuss, and make new friends. These conferences have moved me to reflect on my own privleges to study abroad twice. The building in this Coldplay video is literally the building in which I attended school while I lived in Sicily for four months. Oh nostalgia....

My apologies...

for the lack of posts around here. I got a bit busy and so blogging was balanced with life and well, set to the side. And I didn't want to do simple living month half-heartedly so I decided in favor of my work and social and personal life to delay a bit of that fun for the coming weeks so keep your eyes open!

In the meantime, I have started an awesome, super cool job with the YMCA Center for Civic Engagement and it's awesome. (Did I say that already? well it is...) You can learn more about it at this website here. Scout created that awesome website so you should check it out!! In the meantime, please check out all the awesome giveaways going on and I will be back with some life. comin at ya. A Girl and Her Scout style. Hope you're having a great week!

Peace!

Nappy Time

This is what happens to Bailey after taking a mile long walk in 90 degree weather. (She's passed out laying on my chest.) :) I promise I'm not an abuser of pups. She loves it! I'm the one that is being dragged along :)
I have lots of posts to catch up on. I've been really bad about downloading pictures, but soon I will have some more exciting blogs coming your way. (They will also not be all about Bailey, but let's get real- she's way cuter than the other stuff I do!)
Also, I started my new job as Assistant Manager at Tropical Smoothie here in Knoxville and LOVE it! Kind of random for me for those of you who know me, but I've really been enjoying the change of atmosphere.
Anyways, I hope you are enjoying your week and keeping cool out there! Eat some popsicles if you feel heat exhaustion coming on or better yet, come grab a smoothie :) Both are great ancient remedies for the heat that are proven to work.*

*This statement may not actually be true, but it's definitely weather for some yummy popsicles!
